Design Alchemy is a full-service interior design studio specializing in architectural estates, large-scale renovations and new-build residences.
Founded in 2012 by mother/daughter designers Deborah Costa and Kristine Renee, Design Alchemy delivers in-depth expertise for all phases of the design process, from initial conception to final execution. Through each step of the design process, Deborah and Kristine are committed to an absolute focus on white-glove service.
With shared backgrounds in construction, space planning, as well as art, lighting, textile and furniture curation, Design Alchemy works with top architects and private clients in residential and resort communities throughout the United States. Kristine and Deborah routinely travel the world, exploring private and retail environments, global art and furniture fairs, as well as artist and artisan studios, in order to realize ever-evolving, one-of-a-kind residences for discerning homeowners.
Deborah Costa
After a 15-year career designing video game studios across the globe for Sega and Sony, Deborah founded her residential design firm in 2002. Her ability to meld her creative skills with construction knowledge and corporate discipline provides clients, architects and builders with a truly full-service design partner. Today, with a resume that includes thousands of completed projects, Deborah remains driven to discover lesser-known artists, makers and creators to create truly unique environments for adventurous homeowners.
Kristine Reneé
The daughter of an interior designer mother and general contractor father, Kristine has been steeped in the world of home design since birth. Studying art and architecture in Europe while obtaining her degree in Liberal Arts, Kristine was selected as a Fulbright Scholar upon graduation and went on to study furniture manufacturing and supply chain logistics in Southeast Asia. She later went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. Today Kristine brings her global experience and innovative design strategies to a growing roster of large-scale residences located across the US.
